Tecnológico de Monterrey was ranked as the third university in Latin America and the first in Mexico, according to the 2020 edition of the QS Regional Rankings Latin America, which was released by the international ranker Quacquarelli Symonds and evaluates the best higher education institutions worldwide.

This year the ranking is made up of 400 universities from 20 Latin American countries, of which 59 are Mexican.

For David Garza Salazar, Vice-Chancellor of Tecnológico de Monterrey, advancing positions in this type of ranking allows the institution to continue generating opportunities so that more students, not only from Mexico, but from around the world can become part of the Tec Community.

QS Regional Rankings Latin America uses 8 evaluation indicators, which are Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Faculty to Student Ratio, Papers per Faculty, International Research Network, Staff with PhD, Web Impact, and Citations per Paper.

The status of Tecnológico de Monterrey by each indicator is as follows:

International Research Network: Tec improved 10 positions in this indicator, occupying position number 13, with a score of 98.6.

Citations per Paper: Tec improved 4 positions, occupying position number 16, with a score of 95.1.

Web Impact: Tec moved up 45 positions this year to 56th place, with a score of 73.2.

Academic Reputation: Tec maintains the 11th position, with a score of 93.6.

Employer Reputation: Here the institution maintains position number 6 and a score of 99.9. This is the strongest indicator of Tec de Monterrey in this ranking.

Staff with PhD: Here Tec holds position number 62 and a score of 93.5.

Faculty to Student Ratio: Here the Institution is ranked 10 and has a score of 99.6.

Papers per Faculty: Tec is ranked 81 and has a score of 54.5.

QS University Rankings: Latin America

Published annually since 2011, QS University Rankings: Latin America, from QS World University Rankings, showcases the best universities in Latin America.  The methodology used is slightly different from the one used in the QS WUR, as it has been adapted to the priorities of the region, with several additional criteria that allow a more in-depth comparison. The methodology is based on feedback collected from universities in the region, as well as on the evaluation of important factors and data availability.
